2020 – 2021 PTA Board Members
We are very fortunate that we have such a strong presence of parents and staff on our board this year. Read below to get to know your PTA Board Members.
Arianne Buckley, President
This is Arianne’s third year on the PTA Board, and first year as president. She has been active and involved in many events that have been held for the school. When her family came to Barron, Arianne dove right into the PTA, and it hasn’t stopped. She can often be seen at events that we have or sharing ideas at meetings. Arianne has a son Grayson who will be in third grade in the fall of 2020 and works full time as a Principle Data Scientist for Nielsen.
Michelle Kelly, President Elect
Michelle is mom to Makenna who will be in fourth grade this fall and Shane who will be in Kindergarten. This will be the third year that Michelle has joined the PTA board, and she has been extremely active in the past with fundraising events. Michelle was the Committee Chair for our Parent’s Only Trivia Night, Chunky’s Polar Express, and the Mother/Son Movie Day. which was a very popular and hugely successful event for the PTA. She brings many great ideas to meetings and we are looking forward to many more.
Kathleen Ricci, Vice President
Kathleen has lived in Salem for a little over a year. She joined the PTA last year and this is her first year on the board. Kathleen has a son, Luke, who’s going into first grade. Currently she works full time as a Specialist for Application Development for National Grid. Kathleen is a recent newlywed and enjoys spending time at home with her family and their two dogs.
Kimberly Pierce, Social Media Secretary
This is Kim’s fourth year on the board and first year as Social Media Secretary. She is mom to Brooke who is in third grade, and Leah, who is in first grade. In the past past year she has been a chair person for the Salem Holiday Parade Float, which placed first in the school division, Little Miss Dance, Fall Festival, Festival of Trees, Barron Boo Bash and was a volunteer for many events. When not helping out at Barron Elementary School, she works as a Senior Applications Analyst for Cerner. Outside of working and the PTA, she loves to spend her time at the beach with her family and friends, or sitting on her back deck reading a book.
Ashlee Stevens, Events Coordinator
This is Ashlee’s third year on the Barron PTA board. She attended many meetings last year as a member of the PTA and decided to take it one step further and become a member of the PTA board. Ashlee is the mom of Hayden who is in the second grade this year. During the week Ashlee provides childcare in her home to infants and toddlers. She is the go to person to all the people around her whether it be family or friends if a party is needed to be planned. Ashlee looks forward to helping plan and carry out all events to continue to make the Barron PTA the best it can be.
Caitlin Silva, Secretary
Caitlin is Secretary for our board, but more importantly she is mom to twins Brody and Gavin, both starting fifth grade, and Rylee who is 4. She works full-time as a school adjustment counselor in the Pentucket Regional School District, in addition being a certified parent coach. In the past Caitlin has helped with the Mother/Son event, as well as donating for events such as Teacher Appreciation week, Father/Daughter dance, and other school activities.
Elizabeth Altavater, Treasurer
Elizabeth is the mom of Aubrey, who is in first grade this year. Last year was Elizabeth’s first year with the PTA where she joined many meeting and volunteered at events, but this year she has joined the board with the hopes of being more involved.
Elizabeth works full time as a Marketing Director with Simon Property Group. When not working she enjoys yoga, going to concerts, and spending time with her family. You can usually find them doing some sort of outdoor activity, such as boating, fishing, swimming and biking.
Carrie Ueda, Volunteer Coordinator
Carrie join the board last year as the Volunteer Coordinator, and will. She is mom to third grader Brooke, and Carter who is in Kindergarten. In the past, Carrie helped build the Holiday Parade float and volunteered for several events. Carrie works full time at Raytheon in finance, making her the perfect person to handle a monthly budget for the PTA. When not working, Carrie enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
