2018 – 2019 PTA Board Members
We are very fortunate that we have such a strong presence of parents and staff on our board this year. Read below to get to know your PTA Board Members.
Kimberly Pierce, President
This is Kim’s second year on the board and first as President. She is the mom to 1st grader Brooke and Leah, who will be in Pre-K for the fall 2018. This past year she was on the event chair for the Salem Holiday Parade Float, which placed first in the school division, and was a volunteer for many events. When not helping out at Barron Elementary School, she has for the past 11 years worked full time for Lowell General Hospital as a Project Manager. Outside of working and the PTA, she loves to spend her time at the beach with her family and friends, or sitting on her back deck reading a book.
Cecilia McGlynn, President Elect
We are pleased to have Cecilia McGlynn join our PTA Board next year as President-Elect. Cecilia is a first grade teacher at Barron and also a parent to two children who attend the school. Cecilia brings fresh ideas and a different perspective to the group with her faculty background. Cecilia is also owner to Barron’s beloved Hadley!
Arianne Buckley, Vice President
This is Arianne’s first year on the PTA Board. She has been active and involved in many events that have been held for the school. Her family came to Barron in the middle of the school year and Arianne dove right into the PTA. She can often be seen at events that we have or sharing ideas at meetings. Arianne has a son Grayson who will be in first grade in the fall of 2018 and works full time as a Principle Data Scientist for Nielsen.
Mary Pat Troisi, Co-Vice President
Many people are familiar with Mary Pat from the front office of our school, but she is also a parent to Emily, a 4th grade student and Barron alumni Lyndsay, now in the 7th grade. She enjoyed the school and the values it stands for so much, that she decided to work at Barron in the front office alongside Terri, and helps with lunch/recess duties. Mary Pat is joining us in the Fall of 2018 as the Co-Vice President of the PTA. We are very excited to welcome our second parent/faculty member to our group this year!
Chrissy LaBrecque, Media Secretary
The fall of 2018 will be Chrissy’s 4th year on the board (third as secretary and one was as a volunteer coordinator). In her tenure she has chaired the Kids Holidays Shopping and Original Works. Chrissy is mom to Lucy – a 4th grader and Sophie who is going into 8th grade. When she is not helping out at the school, Chrissy also is a caretaker to two young toddlers during the week.
Beth Harris, Events Coordinator
Beth Harris will be reprising her position of Events Coordinator for the second year. Many of you are familiar with Beth and have seen her at many, many events this past year. Beth has been a crucial part of our board and is often seen at the school helping whether as a room parent or to decorate for special events. Beth has a son Owen who will be joining 4th grade and works full time as an Events/Party Planner outside of the PTA.
Caitlin Silva, Secretary
She may be new to our board this year but definitely not new to Barron or helping the PTA with events. Caitlin is mom to twins Brody and Gavin, both starting third grade, and Rylee who is 2. She works full time as a school adjustment counselor in the Pentucket Regional School District, in addition to currently finishing a program to become a certified parent coach. In the past Caitlin has helped with the Mother/Son event, as well as donating for events such as Teacher Appreciation week, Father/Daughter dance, and other school activities.
Carrie Ueda, Treasurer
We are happy to have Carrie join the board this year as our Treasurer. She is mom to 1st grader Brooke, and 4 year old Carter. Last year Carrie helped build the Holiday Parade float and volunteered for several events. Carrie works full time at Raytheon in finance, making her the perfect person to handle a monthly budget for the PTA. When not working, Carrie enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Terri Fischer, Treasurer Assistant
It is without a doubt, that most of us all know who Terri is, but for those that do not, Terri works in the front office of Barron. She has been with the school for several years now, and this year she has volunteered her time to help out as the Assistant Treasurer of the PTA. With her past experience as the Treasurer for Soule School PTA, she will be helping Carrie in her new role. We look forward to her bringing new ideas to the table.
Michelle Kelly, Volunteer Coordinator
Michelle is mom to Makenna who will be in 2nd grade this fall and Shane who is 3 years old. This will be the first year that Michelle has joined the PTA board, however she has been extremely active in the past with fundraising events. Michelle was the Committee Chair for our first annual Parent’s Only Trivia Night, which was a very popular and hugely successful event for the PTA. She has brought many great ideas to meetings this past year and we are looking forward to many more. Michelle also works full time
